How to Use

What Counts as a Business Day?

A business day is any weekday — Monday through Friday — that is not a public holiday. This calculator excludes weekends and US federal public holidays (New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and others).

Common Uses

• Project deadlines — how many working days until a deliverable is due
• Contract terms — "net 30 business days" from a signed date
• Delivery estimates — shipping and logistics lead times
• HR and payroll — notice periods, probation lengths, or leave calculations
• Legal timelines — court filing windows counted in business days

Tips

• The calculator uses US holidays by default. If you need a different country, use the Duration tab and subtract weekends manually.
• To count from today, just leave the start date as-is — it defaults to today.
